Ruth Hock was AA's first secretary and typed
the manuscript for the Big Book.

It was at Henrietta Seiberling's home where
Bob and Bill met for the first time on
Mother's Day in 1935. She lived at the Gatehouse
on the Seiberling Estate in Akron, Ohio.

held the first meetings for wives in Akron.

Ebby T., the man who introduced Bill to the
Oxford Group did not have his story in the Big Book.
however, Bill always called Ebby his sponsor.

Stock Certificate
In order to finance the printing of the
First Edition Big Book, stock certificates
were sold to early AA members and others.
Works Publishing, Inc. was the original name
of AA's publishing business.
It was later changed to AA Publishing
and then Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc.
These certificates were later purchased back so
that AA could retain total ownership of the book.

Dust Jacket
This was an early proposed Dust Jacket
design for the First Edition Big Book.

Saturday Evening Post
This is the March 1, 1941 Saturday Evening Post
magazine containing AA's first major publicity.
As a result of this Jack Alexander article,
AA's membership nearly doubled.

Liberty Magazine
The September 1939 Liberty Magazine with an
article entitled, Alcoholics And God.
AA's first National publicity.
