"Buchman and Moral Re-Armament"
by Marc A Rose
"A sweeping religious revival -
fanned by expert showmanship"

 October 1939 Readers Digest
 reprinted from
The Christian Herald Article

Excellent article on Frank Buchman's Oxford group as it is about 20 years old at that time in 1939. This article talks of them meeting at the Hollywood Bowl with 30,000 spectators. "Tonight," said the boss of this imposing show, "you witness the preview of a new world order."

Most you know that the Oxford Group Meetings are where Bill Wilson, Dr. Bob Smith, Ebby Thatcher and most of the early AA folks attended before they broke away and started Alcoholics Anonymous (also this is the same year the Big Book came out and the same year the remaining AA members broke away from the Oxford Groups). This article also mentions a little known magazine put out by the Oxford Group called "Rising Tide" that was about the size of a LIFE Magazine. They only had one issue published as far as I know and those are very very rare and much harder to find than a First Edition Big Book.
