Life Insurance, by Wm. H. Tiffany, issues by the American Popular Life
Insurance Co. of NYC, sometime in the 1870s. It is in pamphlet form and
contains 16 pages. Compares throughout, with statistics and through
anecdote, the effects of alcohol and life expectancy and disability.
Some medical thinking of the day is also presented. Early 1870s sources
are quoted. It concludes with a list of questions the American Popular
Life asked applicants regarding their use of alcohol. In excellent
