In 1946, after ten years of confusion and despair caused by alcoholism, I entered Alcoholics Anonymous. I was twenty six years old at the time. During those lost years I had fluctuated between two alternatives: to resign myself to a life on skid row or to commit suicide. Suicide was the more attractive of the two.

I was one of the more fortunate alcoholics coming into A.A.. I immediately fell in love with the idea of recovery as suggested by Alcoholics Anonymous, and as a result a whole new spiritual approach to life became mine. I haven’t had a drink of alcohol since that day.

I have had continuous involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous for over fifty years now. During that time I was the organizer of about twelve groups in Massachusetts, Maine and Pennsylvania. For a long time I served on the public information committees and I have accepted many public speaking engagements in order to bring information to the public on the disease of alcoholism.

My desire to carry the message is still as strong as ever and this web site is just another way of doing that. When I was young and scared, books and tapes saved my life. I hope these books and tapes can do the same for you if you are on a search for answers as I was years ago.
